Teaching Interests

My teaching interests are mainly related to my research activities including the theoretical aspects of soil mechanics in both under graduate and graduate levels:

  • Soil Mechanics (under graduate)
  • Mechanics of Materials (under graduate)
  • Foundation Engineering (under graduate)
  • Earthquake Engineering (under graduate)

  • Advance Soil Mechanics (graduate)
  • Soil Dynamics & Earthquake Engineering (graduate)
  • Continuum Mechanics and Plasticity in Geomechanics (graduate)
  • Micromechanics (graduate)

Research Interests

  • Soil Constitutive Modeling (in particular: effect of state on soil behavior, influence of inherent and induced anisotropy on soil response, shear banding, coupled hyperelasticity, non-coaxial behavior of granular soils)
  • Constitutive Modeling of Soil-Structure Interface Behavior
  • Soil Liquefaction
  • Application of Micromechanics and Discrete Element Method in Soil Mechanics
  • Application of Thermodynamics in Geomechanics
  • Unsaturated Soil Mechanics
